The Opportunity

We’ve got a rare chance for a motivated Sales Specialist to provide exceptional service to our diverse customer base as well as driving the growth of Gallagher’s Norton animal handling range within the South Australia region.  While both the Gallagher and Norton brands are strong and our products are sought-after, there’s still plenty of opportunity to grow this territory and establish long-term partnerships.  This is a unique role that will see you growing the business by pursuing pre-qualified leads, as well as providing solutions out on the farm by designing sheep and cattle yards.

Working collaboratively with the Gallagher Territory Manager, you’ll be driving an integrated sales process between Norton Livestock Handling Solutions and Gallagher Animal Management products.  Within time you’ll also ensure Gallagher Territory Managers are trained on the Norton range to achieve maximum sales, growth, and account penetration of Gallagher’s Norton animal handling range.

 

The Fit

We’re looking for someone who’s up for a challenge, and keen to get out on the farm to understand our customers’ needs to deliver comprehensive animal handling solutions.  This is a hands-on role so you’ll need to have livestock and yard design experience and will ideally have a good understanding of animal psychology in relation to animal handling equipment.  This role will suit a detail-oriented person who loves to solve problems from all angles, and who gets satisfaction from providing the best product solution, not just the sale. You’ll need to be able to relate to a broad customer base as you’ll be building relationships with a range of producers – both large and small - as well as resellers. In addition, you’ll also have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a relevant territory management or sales role, preferably within animal handling solutions.
  • A solid understanding of livestock farming challenges (agricultural sector knowledge is a must).
  • Experience using and leveraging CRM systems with the ability to determine appropriate call cycles.
  • Experience developing and following up pre-qualified leads and following the sales process from lead to completion.
  • Well-developed communication skills, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritise and manage your workload autonomously.

The successful candidate will ideally be located in or around the Adelaide, Southeast Australia or far Western Victoria areas, but there is some flexibility in terms of the location as long as it’s within the territory.
