The opportunity

Working as a Senior Data Engineer - Information Services, you will apply best practice in data engineering to build effective data pipelines, integrations, transformations and aggregates to enable analytics, actionable insights, ultimately using data to our business stakeholders.  You will take ownership and complete large and complex pieces of work in collaboration with the team, taking technical responsibility for all stages in the development process & data pipeline in the production.  You will also consider your career development in Data Solution Architecture and continue to learn.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Design BI data solutions based on business requirements
  • Developing data pipelines and data transformation routines using ETL tools or other ingestion techniques
  • Managing and monitoring our BI resources (e.g. ELT tools, data storages, DevOps and supporting applications)
  • Mentoring Junior members & sharing your analytical skills and knowledge within team
  • Be involved in all aspects of the project life-cycle, including strategy, road-mapping, architecture and implementation to gain maximum exposure to set you up for a successful career.
  • Provide troubleshooting support on data platform related problems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Continuously develop proficiency with evolving data management requirements e.g. unstructured data, real-time event-driven data, IoT etc.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience: 4+ year's experience using the following or equivalent technologies: Databricks, Python, SQL, Data processing in Azure SQL database & data lake, SQL Server, and Azure DevOps.
  • 5+ years as a Senior Data Engineer
  • Understanding of, or experience working in an Agile environment
  • Skills: In-depth technical knowledge in data engineering practices from architecture to deployment, covering data processing using Databricks and SQL and visualising data in Power BI.


    Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills will also be your key skills.

  • Characteristics: Being proactive and delivery-focused, you will make high quality decisions and act with pace and persistence, turning strategy into results. You’ll be a natural leader and will demonstrate technical leadership. You are well-versed in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and able to adapt your communication style dependent on your audience.
  • Education & Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent.
